Why do we say “Merry Christmas”?
Because it is a story that celebrates the birth of values — justice, peace, freedom, respect for life, and care for the vulnerable. Humanity may stumble, yet these ideals continue to guide us forward. “Merry Christmas” springs from this spirit of love, and it is also a reminder to carry that love onward.
Joy is never guaranteed. Misfortune exists everywhere, and no one knows what may happen at any moment. Only by loving others as ourselves, thinking more for others, being ready to help and share burdens at any time, can misfortune be lessened and more people experience warmth.
